Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba’s India Visit Strengthens Bilateral Ties

Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has affirmed that her recent visit to India has greatly contributed to enhancing the goodwill between Nepal and India. Speaking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) upon her return on Thursday, Dr. Rana emphasized that the visit has further strengthened the friendly, cooperative, and multidimensional relationship between the two countries, rooted in equality and mutual benefits.

Dr. Rana highlighted that the visit has opened avenues for promoting cooperation and assistance through bilateral mechanisms, paving the way for expanded collaboration at higher levels in the future. She noted that her visit was part of a program of high-level exchanges between Nepal and India.

During her visit, Dr. Rana held amicable discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, focusing on issues of Nepal’s welfare and mutual interests. She particularly underscored the need to expand ongoing cooperation and strengthen the existing friendship between the two nations.

Additionally, Dr. Rana delivered an invitation from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to Prime Minister Modi for a state visit to Nepal. This visit marked Dr. Rana’s first official trip to India since assuming the role of Foreign Minister.
