President Ramchandra Paudel Offers Prayers at Patan’s Krishna Mandir on Shri Krishna Janmashtami
President Ramchandra Paudel visited the historic Krishna Mandir at Patan Durbar Square today to offer prayers on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
During his visit, President Paudel performed traditional worship rituals and received Prasad from the temple priest. The President was warmly welcomed at the temple premises by federal MPs elected from Lalitpur, members of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, Lalitpur Chief District Officer Tulsi Bahadur Shrestha, and Lalitpur Metropolitan City’s Acting Chief, Manjali Shakya Bajracharya, among others.
Following his prayers at the temple, President Paudel also took time to observe the Mangahiti, a historic stone water spout nearby.
It is customary for the head of state to visit Krishna Mandir each year on Shri Krishna Janmashtami, a festival celebrated on Bhadra Krishna Ashtami to honor the birth of Lord Krishna. Devotees have gathered in large numbers at the Krishna Mandir in Patan, as well as other Krishna temples across the country, to celebrate this significant festival.
