Supreme Court to Deliver Verdict in Kidnapping and Murder Case Against Agni Sapkota
The Supreme Court is set to announce its verdict today in the high-profile kidnapping and murder case involving former Speaker and Vice Chairman of the CPN Maoist Center, Agni Sapkota. The case will be heard by the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court.
The case stems from allegations related to the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Arjun Lama from Kavre. The victims’ families, including Kanakmani Dixit, Arjun’s wife Purnimaya Lama, and Sushil Pyakurel, have filed a writ demanding justice for Lama’s death and seeking accountability for Sapkota.
The long-standing writ challenging Sapkota’s appointment as Speaker and Minister remains unresolved, adding to the case’s complexity. The Supreme Court’s decision today is anticipated to address these critical legal and political issues.
