US-Nepal Military Exercise to Enhance Disaster Response Capacity
A joint military exercise between the Nepali Army and the United States Army, aimed at bolstering disaster response capabilities, is set to take place from September 15 to 20, 2024.
The exercise, dubbed “Pacific Angel,” will focus on exchanging expertise and best practices in disaster management and humanitarian assistance. Through a series of training sessions and drills, both armies will work together to improve their search and rescue operations during natural disasters.
This year’s exercise, the fourth in the series, will involve activities in Kathmandu, Makwanpur, and Dhading districts. Participants will share knowledge on existing methods and procedures for conducting effective search and rescue operations in various disaster scenarios.
By collaborating on this joint initiative, the Nepali Army and the United States Army hope to strengthen their partnership and enhance their ability to respond to disasters effectively.
