Federal Parliament Meetings Today to Discuss Key Bills
Both houses of the federal parliament are set to convene today. The House of Representatives will meet at 1:00 pm at the Parliament Building, New Baneshwar, with an agenda to pass two significant bills: the ‘Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081’ and the ‘Legislation Bill, 2081’.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present the proposal for the endorsement of the ‘Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081’. Similarly, Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya will seek approval from the House on the ‘Legislative Management, 2081′.
In addition, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will table the Annual Report of the National Information Commission for the Year 2079/80 during the session.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly will also meet today, where Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Paudel is expected to respond to MPs’ queries concerning the Ministry of Finance. Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Bidya Bhattarai will introduce a proposal for discussion on the ‘Nepal University Bill, 2079’, which has returned from the House of Representatives with amendments.
