Rain and Thunder Expected in Karnali and Hilly Regions

The weather across Nepal remains partly to mostly cloudy, particularly in the hilly regions, with isolated rainfall in some areas. Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is currently reported in parts of Karnali Province, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The ongoing weather conditions are a result of lingering monsoon winds still active across the country. For the afternoon, skies are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while other regions will enjoy mostly clear weather. There is a chance of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in some areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim, as well as in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces.

Looking ahead to tonight, Karnali Province may see further light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning, while isolated showers are possible in the hilly regions of other provinces.

The forecast for the next 24 hours indicates continued light to moderate rain in some areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and scattered showers in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces.
