4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Baitadi District, Nepal

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 struck near Shivalinga in Baitadi district today at 2:09 PM, according to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, Lainchaur.

This follows a recent quake on September 18, which had its epicentre near Majhigaon in Bajhang. Nepal, being located in the seismically active Himalayan region, has experienced frequent tremors in recent years.

Due to its tectonic positioning, Nepal remains highly vulnerable to earthquakes, with experts constantly monitoring seismic activity across the country. No immediate reports of damage or casualties have emerged following today’s tremor.
