The Embassy of India in collaboration with the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) inaugurated the art exhibition “Ramayan Resonance: Celebrating a Shared Heritage” on September 23, 2024, at the NAFA Gallery. The exhibition, curated by Ms. Gargi Seth, celebrates the cultural and artistic ties between India and Nepal through the timeless epic, the Ramayana.
The event was officially opened by Hon’ble Minister of Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation, Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey, alongside the Ambassador of India to Nepal Mr. Naveen Srivastava. Also present at the inauguration were Mr. Narad Mani Hartamchhali, Chancellor of NAFA, and Ms. Anju Ranjan, Deputy Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
Renowned Nepali artists, art enthusiasts, and cultural dignitaries attended the ceremony, marking the beginning of a week-long exhibition running from September 23 to 30. The exhibition is a vibrant display of artwork inspired by the Ramayana, emphasizing the shared cultural heritage of Nepal and India.
The event aims to foster greater cultural exchange and understanding between the two neighboring nations, highlighting the rich, intertwined histories and artistic expressions rooted in the Ramayana.
