Chandragiri Municipality Prepares Voluntary Local Review Report for SDG Localization

Chandragiri Municipality has completed its Voluntary Local Review (VLR) report, marking a significant step toward localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). After a year of dedicated effort, the report focuses on goals related to education, health, gender equality, sanitation, and creating a safe, clean, and accessible city.

The VLR report details the municipality’s plans and initiatives, aligning them with the global SDGs at the local level. Chandragiri is now set to present the report to the United Nations, becoming the second municipality in Nepal to do so, following Dhulikhel.

The report was officially released on World Habitat Day during a program attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Chandragiri Mayor Ghanshyam Giri, National Planning Commission member Dr. Ramesh Prasad Singh, and UN Resident Coordinator Hanna Singar-Hamdy.

Mayor Giri highlighted the importance of the VLR in achieving the SDGs by 2030 and emphasized the municipality’s commitment to localizing these goals for sustainable development.
