Nepali Army Wins Gold at Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2024 in the UK

The Nepali Army (NA) secured a gold medal at the prestigious Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2024, held in Wales, United Kingdom, from October 9 to 11. Competing against 121 international military teams from 37 countries, including Britain, the NA squad emerged victorious, according to the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information.
The Exercise Cambrian Patrol, in place since 1960, is regarded as one of the toughest tests in the British Army. This year’s event required participants to traverse a 50-kilometer course through the challenging terrain of the Brecon Beacons, carrying logistics weighing around 50 pounds. Teams were tested on combat preparation, information gathering, and the management of injuries and illness over two days.
This marks the third time the Nepali Army has won gold in this event, having previously clinched the title in 2017 and 2019. The NA has been participating in the annual competition for the past 24 years.
Major General Deepak Kumar Baniya represented the Nepali Army at the award distribution ceremony, celebrating the team’s outstanding achievement.
