Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Highlights Government’s Achievements in First 100 Days

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addressed the nation today, sharing the major achievements of his government during its first 100 days in office. Speaking from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singhadurbar, he emphasized the government’s progress in several key areas, including economic reforms and the peace process.

Oli’s government was formed on July 15, 2024, following a coalition between CPN (UML), Nepali Congress, Janata Samajwadi Party, and other smaller parties. In his address, the Prime Minister noted that signs of economic improvement were already visible, with Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) showing impressive growth and the stock market on a positive trajectory. He also underscored the government’s commitment to turning its promises into action.

“This government is built on trust and has completed around 70 percent of the work it promised,” Oli stated. “If it weren’t for unexpected challenges, the remaining 30 percent would have been concluded.” He highlighted the government’s focus on accelerating ongoing projects to meet deadlines, having set specific goals for the first 100 days. Out of the 274 total targets across various ministries, 185 had been achieved, according to Oli.

The Prime Minister also spoke about his government’s success in advancing Nepal’s long-standing peace process. A key milestone, according to Oli, was the passage of a bill amending the Enforced Disappeared Persons and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which was approved by parliament and authenticated by the President. “A search committee has been formed to reconstitute the commission and conclude the peace process,” he said, calling it a significant step forward in addressing the legacy of the country’s civil war.

Oli concluded by expressing confidence in the government’s ability to meet its objectives and further deliver on its promises to the people of Nepal.
