Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel Meets MCC CEO Alice Albright, IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li in Washington D.C.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel met with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Alice P. Albright in Washington D.C. on Thursday. The discussions focused on the ongoing implementation of MCC projects in Nepal, which have been progressing under the MCC Compact Agreement since last year. The talks also addressed the development of the cross-border transmission line, a key component of Nepal’s energy infrastructure supported by the MCC.
In a separate meeting, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Bo Li met with Minister Poudel to discuss various aspects of financial cooperation, including financing, consultation, and technical assistance. Bo Li expressed satisfaction with Nepal’s economic progress during the discussions.
The meetings were attended by Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari, Finance Secretary Ram Prasad Ghimire, and Nepal’s Charge d’Affaires in Washington D.C., Kumarraj Kharel.
