Nepal’s Police Chief Heads to UK for INTERPOL General Assembly
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar departed for Glasgow, United Kingdom, today, leading a three-member Nepalese delegation to the 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly. The assembly, scheduled from November 4 to November 7, will gather representatives from 196 member countries to discuss key issues affecting international law enforcement.
The Central Police Newsroom reported that the agenda for this year’s session includes strengthening cooperation between INTERPOL and the World Health Organization (WHO), implementing strategies to combat terrorism, and enhancing analytical capabilities for police forces worldwide. Discussions will also focus on an integrated approach to countering extremism and proposed amendments to INTERPOL’s constitution.
This high-level meeting is expected to advance global strategies for combating organized crime, fostering international security, and fortifying collaboration among member nations on emerging threats and challenges in policing.
