CIB Arrests Rajib Gurung (Deepak Manange) in Kathmandu Following Supreme Court Conviction
A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested Rajib Gurung, also known as Deepak Manange, from Sanobharyang in Kathmandu. The arrest was confirmed today by CIB Chief, Additional Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa.
The CIB apprehended Gurung in response to a recent Supreme Court ruling, which found him guilty of attempted murder and sentenced him to five years in prison. Following his arrest, the CIB is set to present Gurung to the District Court in Kathmandu to proceed with his sentencing.
The case has drawn public attention due to Gurung’s high-profile status and previous legal issues. His conviction underscores the judiciary’s stance on addressing violent crime and holding individuals accountable. The CIB’s quick action in enforcing the Supreme Court’s ruling reflects Nepal Police’s commitment to upholding the rule of law in such cases.
