CPN (UML) and CPC Leaders Hold Bilateral Meeting in Beijing
Leaders of Nepal’s CPN (UML) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) held a bilateral meeting in Beijing on Wednesday, focusing on strengthening ties and enhancing cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
Deepak Gyawali, a member of UML’s publicity department and part of the visiting team, reported that the leaders expressed optimism about the upcoming visit of Nepal’s Prime Minister and UML Chair, KP Sharma Oli, to China.
UML Senior Vice Chair Ishwar Pokharel emphasized that PM Oli’s visit would be pivotal in solidifying previous agreements and preparing a strategic roadmap to elevate the historical relationship between the two nations. “This visit will serve as a milestone in implementing past accords and further strengthening the already close ties between Nepal and China,” Pokharel stated.
CPC Foreign Affairs Department Head Liu Jianchao highlighted the anticipation among both Chinese and Nepali citizens regarding PM Oli’s visit. He underscored the importance of leveraging the historical relationship between the two countries for mutual development and prosperity while addressing shared priorities.
Deputy Minister of the CPC Foreign Affairs Department, Sun Haiyan, reiterated China’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s development and prosperity, emphasizing the strong bonds of friendship between the two nations.
The meeting is part of a 15-member UML delegation’s visit to China, led by Pokharel, at the invitation of the CPC’s Foreign Affairs Department. Chinese leaders expressed eagerness to welcome PM Oli and continue fostering the cooperative partnership between Nepal and China.
