Government Committed to Boosting Economy Through Private Sector Cooperation: Minister Bhandari

Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Damodar Bhandari emphasized the government’s commitment to collaborating with the private sector to drive economic growth. Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day Plast Nepal exhibition at Bhrikutimandap today, the Minister highlighted the indispensable role of private sector partnerships in addressing challenges in Nepal’s economy.

Minister Bhandari noted recent improvements in economic indicators and stressed the need to bolster the capital market through enhanced domestic production and a reduced trade deficit. “The adoption of the latest technology will spur economic activities and ensure sustainable growth,” he remarked.

He also identified replacing imports with domestic products and boosting exports as critical goals, adding that the government is preparing amendments to various industry and business-related laws to support these objectives. The Minister reassured domestic investors of a favorable investment climate and urged them to act with confidence.

During the event, FNCCI Chairman Chandra Dhakal and other business leaders commended the government’s efforts to align economic reforms with private sector recommendations, expressing optimism about the country’s economic trajectory.

The Plast Nepal exhibition showcases innovations and opportunities in the plastics industry, drawing attention to the sector’s potential to contribute to Nepal’s economic revitalization. The event will run until Friday.
