Nepal and Finland Sign Public Investment Agreement to Boost Socioeconomic Infrastructure
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel met with Ville Tavio, Finland’s Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting at the Finance Ministry, the two nations signed an agreement to mobilize concessional finance under Finland’s Public Investment Facility. The agreement was signed by Dhaniram Sharma, Chief of the Foreign Aid Coordination Division at Nepal’s Finance Ministry, and Rina Rikka Heika, Finland’s Ambassador to Nepal.
The agreement focuses on Strengthening Nepal’s socioeconomic infrastructure. Promoting sustainable development in key sectors. Mobilizing concessional finance to implement targeted projects.
Minister Paudel expressed confidence that the agreement would significantly contribute to the development of Nepal’s socioeconomic infrastructure.
The Finnish side reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nepal’s sustainable growth and highlighted the mutual benefits of enhanced cooperation between the two nations.
This partnership underscores Finland’s continued engagement in Nepal’s development efforts, fostering economic progress and sustainability.
