Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to Embark on Official Visit to China

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to undertake an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from December 2 to 5, 2024, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, as announced by Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his spouse, Radhika Shakya, and a high-level delegation.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning also announced that at the invitation of Premier Li Qiang, Nepalese Prime Minister Oli will pay an official visit to China from December 2 to 5.

During his visit, Prime Minister Oli will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing and hold bilateral talks with Premier Li Qiang to discuss matters of mutual interest. He is also scheduled to meet Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

A key highlight of the visit will be the Prime Minister’s keynote address at Peking University, emphasizing Nepal-China relations and cooperation. Additionally, he will speak at the Nepal-China Business Forum, co-organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).

The Prime Minister’s delegation includes Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Members of Parliament, senior government officials, private sector representatives, and media personnel.

Prime Minister Oli and his delegation will return to Kathmandu on December 5, marking the conclusion of a visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and exploring avenues for economic and diplomatic cooperation.
