Results of Local By-Elections Announced

The vote count for the local level by-elections held on Sunday has concluded, with results being updated from several districts across Nepal.

In Mahabu Rural Municipality of Dailekh district, Janga Bahadur Shahi of the CPN (UML) has been elected as chairperson, securing 3,127 votes. His nearest competitor, Jhalak Bahadur Bhandari of the Nepali Congress, garnered 2,675 votes, according to Chief Returning Officer Kul Prasad Pandey.

In Gadhi Rural Municipality-6, Sunsari district, Nepali Congress candidate Tetar Sah has emerged victorious as ward chair, earning 816 votes. Santu Oraon of the CPN (UML) followed with 770 votes, while Kusheshwar Kherwar of the CPN (Maoist Centre) obtained 695 votes, as confirmed by Chief Returning Officer Mukesh Upadhyaya.

The Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal has secured victories in Dakneshwori Municipality of Saptari district, winning the ward chair positions in both Dakneshwori-1 and Dakneshwori-4. Dhirendra Kumar Sah and Devendra Prasad Yadav were declared winners, respectively, per District Election Office Chief Ramesh Kumar Joshi.

In Surma Rural Municipality-4, Bajhang district, Nepali Congress candidate Dhirendra Pujara has been elected as ward chair with 657 votes. Lakhi Chandra Bohara of the CPN (UML) came in second with 487 votes, as reported by the Election Office.

These results highlight the varied electoral outcomes across different political parties, reflecting the dynamic political landscape at the local level.
