SEBON Chair Commits to Fair and Transparent Capital Market
The newly appointed Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), Santosh Narayan Shrestha, has pledged to foster a fair and transparent capital market in Nepal. Addressing a program organized by the Economic Media Society Nepal on Wednesday, Chairman Shrestha emphasized the need for collective efforts to bolster investor confidence and market growth.
“The current capital market requires expansion, and the role of stakeholders is equally significant. SEBON is ready to cooperate with all concerned parties to achieve this,” Shrestha stated.
Supporting this vision, Sagar Dhakal, the newly elected Chairman of the Stock Broker Association of Nepal, highlighted the importance of collaboration and coordination in developing the capital market. He noted that a robust capital market would generate employment opportunities and contribute to the country’s economic development.
Ramendra Rayamajhi, Chairman of the Merchant Bankers’ Association of Nepal, observed that Nepal’s capital market is on a growth trajectory. He urged the new leadership at SEBON to accelerate this progress and make significant strides in market development.
Additionally, Ram Raja Shrestha, Chairman of the Economic Media Society Nepal, underscored the role of media in fostering economic growth. He stressed the importance of media collaboration with stakeholders to stimulate economic activities and enhance market transparency.
