COAS Sigdel Reviews Officer Cadets’ Passing Out Parade at Indian Military Academy

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel, currently on an official visit to India, served as the Reviewing Officer at the passing out parade of Officer Cadets at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun on Saturday.

During the ceremony, General Sigdel conferred insignia upon Nepali Army Officer Cadets undergoing training at the IMA. The Nepali Army has maintained a longstanding tradition of sending its cadets to the IMA for training, a practice that began in 1953.

According to the Nepali Army, over 200 of its Officer Cadets have successfully graduated from the prestigious Indian academy to date. Currently, Officer Cadets from twelve countries, including six from Nepal, are receiving training at the IMA.

This event highlights the robust defense ties and cooperation between the Nepal Army and the Indian Armed Forces, showcasing a tradition of shared training and camaraderie in military leadership.
