The CPN (Unified Socialist) has restructured the responsibilities of its leaders, six months after completing its central general convention. The decision was made during a Standing Committee meeting, according to Party Secretary Som Prasad Pandey.
The reshuffle includes the formation of a 24-member central secretariat, headed by Party Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal.
As part of the new structure, honored leader Jhalanath Khanal will head the School Department, while Beduram Bhusal takes charge of the Organization Department. Pramesh Hamal has been assigned the Foreign Affairs Department, and Ghanendra Basnet will oversee the State Affairs Department.
Senior Vice Chair Rajendra Pandey has been tasked with leading the Front Section. Vice Chair Jagannath Khatiwada will oversee the Federal and Provincial Affairs Department, and Vice Chair Prakash Jwala has been assigned to lead the Publicity Department.
Vice Chair Jayanti Rai will now head the All Nepal Women’s Association (Socialist), while Vice Chair Bhanu Bhakta Joshi has been appointed as the in-charge for Sudurpaschim Province.
Other provincial assignments include Vice Chair Dharmanath Prasad Sah as Madhes Province in-charge, Vice Chair Gangalal Tuladhar as Bagmati Province in-charge, and Vice Chair Metamani Chaudhary as Lumbini Province in-charge.
General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal has been given overall monitoring responsibilities, while Deputy General Secretaries Rajendra Rai, Ram Kumar Bhattarai, and Garima Shah have been assigned Koshi Province, Office Secretary, and Parliamentary Affairs, respectively.
Additional roles include Secretary Srinath Baral as Gandaki Province in-charge, Secretary Chandra Bahadur Shahi as Karnali Province in-charge, Laxman KC leading the Youth Department, and Ram Kumari Jhankri overseeing the Student Department.
The reshuffle aims to streamline party operations and strengthen leadership across its organizational framework.
