Police have arrested two individuals for engaging in offensive and indecent behavior during the Nepal Premier League (NPL) final match held on Saturday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as 21-year-old Ashok Saud of Adarsha Rural Municipality and 19-year-old Ganesh Saud of Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality in Doti district, confirmed Superintendent of Police (SP) Nawaraj Adhikari from the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
The incident occurred after the final game between Janakpur Bolts and Sudurpaschim Royals at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on December 21. The NPL is organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
According to SP Adhikari, a quarrel erupted among attendees during the match. The arrested individuals are accused of using derogatory language, exhibiting indecent behavior toward others, and attempting to disrupt communal harmony. Complaints from various parties, including the victims and media reports, prompted the arrests.
Police are continuing their investigation and actively searching for additional individuals involved in the incident.
