Pakistani Ambassador Meets Prime Minister Oli, Discusses Bilateral Cooperation
Abrar H Hashmi, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring avenues for collaboration in trade, tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, disaster management, education, and culture, according to the Prime Minister’s Private Secretariat.
Prime Minister Oli emphasized Nepal’s commitment, as the Chair of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), to reactivating and strengthening the organization. He underscored the need for SAARC member countries to adopt a constructive approach, stating, “Regional organizations like SAARC should not face adverse impacts even if there are bilateral issues between member states.”
Oli also highlighted Nepal’s efforts to expand its international relations and collaborations while prioritizing its sovereign and independent stance.
Ambassador Hashmi expressed Pakistan’s willingness to host the next SAARC Summit and reiterated Pakistan’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Nepal across various sectors. He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to work together with Nepal to advance mutual interests and regional unity.
The meeting is seen as a step toward bolstering bilateral relations and fostering regional cooperation within the SAARC framework.
