Nepal Wins First Gold in International Open Karate Championship

Nepal has secured its first gold medal at the International Open Karate Championship being held in Pune, Maharashtra. Nepali karateka Siddhartha Rana clinched the top spot in the ‘kata’ performance category for the 10-year age group.
The tournament, organized by the Indian National Karate Association, features over 100 athletes from various regions of India, along with participants from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Eighteen male and female karate players are representing Nepal in the competition. The final matches across different age and weight categories are scheduled to take place today and tomorrow.
