NC Leader Koirala Meets Former UNMIN Chief Ian Martin

Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala held a meeting with Ian Martin, the former Chief of the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN), during his visit to the United Kingdom. The UNMIN had played a pivotal role in facilitating Nepal’s peace process.

During the meeting, Dr. Koirala and Martin discussed various aspects of Nepal’s ongoing peace process. Martin highlighted the urgency of concluding the peace process without further delay. He stressed that the transitional justice issues must be resolved swiftly, particularly given Nepal’s current peaceful environment and the former rebel group’s participation in the electoral process.

According to Dr. Koirala’s Private Secretariat, Martin reiterated the importance of avoiding unnecessary delays in achieving a comprehensive resolution to the remaining transitional justice challenges.
