KVDA to construct parks at different locations
The Kathmandu Valley Development Authority (KVDA) has decided to establish various parks at different locations in the Valley.
Authority information officer and engineer Saurabh Dhakal said Shalinadi Park at the Shankarapur municipality, the Ghatalbaba temple park at the Nagarjun municipality, the Kageshwori Park and the Nawatandham Park at the Kageshwori Manohara municipality and the Champadevi Park at the Kirtipur municipality are among the parks to be constructed in the Valley.
According to him, these parks are to be constructed for disaster management and climate change adaptation.
Likewise, four parks will be constructed in the Lalitpur metropolis: Machchhendra Park at Ward no 13, Panchodhan Park at Ward no 21 and Balkumari Park at Ward no 27. Likewise, a park is to be constructed at the Sainbu Bhainsepati of Ward 25 and the public land beside the Lubhu Secondary School at the Mahalaxmi municipality-8 in Lalitpur will be utilised for the park construction.
The KVDA has a policy of promoting a go-green campaign in the Bhaktapur district. It has allocated a budget of Rs 100 million for the park construction projects in three districts.
