Butwal DSP Thag Bahadur KC arrested

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Thug Bahadur KC of the Area Police Office, Butwal has been arrested on the charge of extorting money in a case related to gold transactions.

A police team of the Central Investigation Bureau arrested KC during a raid carried out at his residence on Sunday night.

The team confiscated around 400 grams of gold and Rs 2.5 million in cash from his possession.

KC, who has already been transferred from the area police office to the district police office Kaski, was preparing to flee on Monday, but the police team from Kathmandu stopped him from doing so and took him into custody.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
