Bagmati Province Chief Sharma calls for claiming Chief Minister within five days
Chief of the Bagmati Province, Yadav Chandra Sharma, has called for claiming the position of the Province’s Chief Minister within five days.
A Province Assembly (PA) member with the majority backing by two or more than two parties representing the PA can claim the position as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution as no single party has a majority in the recently held PA elections.
The deadline for submitting a claim ends at 4 pm on January 9. There are a total of 110 members in the Bagmati PA, including 37 from the Nepali Congress, 27 from the CPN (UML) 21 from the CPN (Maoist Centre), 13 from the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party, seven from the CPN (Unified Socialist), three from the Nepal Workers Peasants Party and two from the Hamro Nepali Party.
