Cabinet assigns Home Ministry to probe self-immolation
Prem Prasad Acharya died while undergoing treatment on Wednesday, (today) after self-immolation in front of the federal parliament building on Tuesday.
A Cabinet meeting on Wednesday assigned the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate issues raised by Acharya.
Acharya put himself on fire after posting a long depressing note on his Facebook.
The meeting has assigned Home Ministry to prepare a report at the earliest by investigating the issues raised by Acharya on social media and the reason for the self-immolation.
“The Home Ministry has been asked to investigate all the issues raised on social media and prepare a report suggesting the government of steps it should take on the issues,” said a Cabinet minister.
The minister said the Cabinet entrusted the Home Ministry to decide on compensation to the victim’s family.
