‘A Dream Exists: Planting One Lakh Saplings Throughout Kathmandu’

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has expressed his heartfelt ambition to transform Kathmandu into a greener city by planting an astounding one lakh saplings.

In a recent post shared on the Facebook page of Routine of Nepal Banda (RONB), Mayor Balen shared his dream, stating, “A Dream Exists: Planting One Lakh Saplings Throughout the City.”

According to the post shared by RONB, the campaign to make Kathmandu greener has already commenced, with the Kathmandu Metro initiating a plantation drive aiming to plant approximately one lakh trees in just a few months. On the inaugural day of the campaign on Thursday, more than 150 plants were already planted on the Jadibuti road. This remarkable initiative will be carried out as an extensive campaign, with Mayor Balen informing the public that a staggering 100,000 saplings will be planted within the coming months.

Mayor Balen’s commitment to greening Kathmandu is a significant step toward creating a more sustainable and environmentally conscious city. The plantation campaign’s initiation marks a positive beginning in the pursuit of a greener future for the metropolitan area.
