Acting PM Khadka Inspects Birendra Hospital’s Healthcare Services
Directs Nepali Army for Improvements
Acting Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka visited Birendra Hospital at Chhauni in the Capital City on Thursday to assess the quality of healthcare services provided by the Nepali Army (NA) and discuss welfare activities.
Upon arrival, Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma warmly welcomed Khadka and presented an overview of the health care services and welfare activities being carried out by the Nepali Army.
During the onsite inspection, the Acting Prime Minister thoroughly assessed the facilities and services at the hospital, including the Outpatient Department (OPD), emergency service, trauma hall, and the mass casualty treatment centre. The visit aimed to gain a comprehensive understanding of the hospital’s capacity and effectiveness in providing medical care to citizens.
He was informed about the various activities of the hospital by Brigadier General Dr. Bharat Bahadur Bhandari, Commandant of the hospital through a presentation.
Following the inspection, Acting PM Khadka provided directives to the Nepali Army, urging them to take proactive measures for enhancing the management of healthcare services both within the NA and at Birendra Hospital. His emphasis was on further improving the healthcare facilities and ensuring top-notch medical attention for all patients.
The visit signifies the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and services for the citizens of Nepal. The Public Relations Directorate of the Nepali Army reported the Acting Prime Minister’s directives and determination to strengthen the health care sector within the army and the hospital.
