Adverse Weather Disrupts Domestic Flights
The adverse weather conditions on Sunday wreaked havoc on domestic flights, particularly those scheduled for Lukla and Phaplu of Solukhumbu, affecting travel plans for numerous passengers.
According to Subhas Jha, the spokesperson of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), flights operating in the hilly region of Lukla and Phaplu were significantly impacted due to low visibility caused by the inclement weather. However, he reassured that operations at TIA remained unaffected and were running smoothly.
The cancellation of flights has not only disrupted the travel plans of locals but has also posed challenges for tourists intending to explore the picturesque landscapes of Solukhumbu.
Pratibha Manandhar, a Meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division, shed light on the weather situation, mentioning that light rainfall was experienced across all provinces except Koshi and Madhesh. She elaborated that the rainfall was anticipated to persist until Sunday evening in the five provinces but expressed optimism that the weather would clear up by Monday morning.
