After a Positive Sunday, NEPSE Faces a Downturn on the Second Trading Day

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced a downturn on Monday, following a notable surge in the first trading session of the week. The market, which had seen a rise of 111.20 points on Sunday, encountered a decline of 15.40 points on the second trading day, settling at 1948.57 points.

The trading day recorded a total of 1,091,918 transactions involving 4,698,274 shares traded by 303 companies. Despite the market’s downturn, the overall turnover showed resilience, reaching NPR 4,841,274,386.

The market dynamics were marked by fluctuations, with share prices of 81 companies witnessing an upward trend, while 157 companies faced a decline. The prices of 3 companies remained stable amidst the market volatility. Despite the setback, market observers noted an increase in the overall transaction volume, signaling active participation from investors.

Sunday’s trading session had brought a long-awaited positive momentum to the NEPSE, as the index climbed by 111.20 points, reaching 1,963.98 points. The turnover on that day amounted to NPR 482,482,000, with 1,367,000 shares sold in 7,144 transactions involving 244 companies.
