American Companies Eager to Invest in Nepal, Says Atul Keshap
Atul Keshap, the Senior Vice President for South Asia at the US Chamber of Commerce and former US Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, has expressed that numerous American companies are keen on making significant investments in Nepal.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Finance Minister Barshaman Pun at the Ministry at Singhadurbar on Friday.
Keshap, who is in Kathmandu to attend the third Nepal Investment Summit scheduled for April 28 and 29, discussed potential investment opportunities with Minister Pun. He mentioned that Coca-Cola, which already operates in Nepal, is planning to significantly expand its investment.
Furthermore, Keshap highlighted that American companies are interested in investing heavily in sectors such as information technology and international-level amusement parks.
“We are also interested in investing in international level amusement parks and information technology,” Keshap stated, emphasizing Coca-Cola’s major expansion plans.
He expressed optimism that the Nepalese government would foster an environment conducive to investment.
In response, Minister Pun conveyed that attracting international investment is a priority for the government of Nepal.
