Ashok Rai defends move to split JSP Nepal
Chairman of the newly-formed Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Ashok Kumar Rai has the JSP, Nepal was split due to undemocratic and arbitrary characters of party chairman Upendra Yadav.
At a press conference organized Thursday to inform the media about the party split and formation of the new political force, Rai said that Yadav failed to run the party transparently but was discriminatory among the party cadres, which fueled a split in the party.
Chairman Rai argued that Yadav was weak in exercising internal democracy and was reluctant to allow the party province committee to exercise their rights leading to ideological and theoretical differences. “So, we could not remain in the same party,” Rai shared.
Party General Secretary Istiyak Rai claimed that Upendra Yadav worked against the party’s official decisions.
He shared that the new party would be run in line with collective leadership and inclusive representation adding that federal socialism would be the party’s guiding principle while the party will prefer democratic decentralization organizationally.
Party leaders Rajendra Shrestha, Pradip Yadav, Renu Yadav, Birendra Mahato, Sushila Shrestha, Ranju Jha and others were present at the press meet.
