Attorney General’s office to not pursue passport case against Former Home Minister

The Office of the Attorney General has decided not to lodge a case against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman, Rabi Lamichhane on his passport issue.

Attorney General Dinmani Pokhrel has decided not to pursue the case against the former deputy prime minister and home minister Lamichhane.

Earlier, the District Police Circle, Teku; District Attorney’s Office Kathmandu and High Court Government Attorney’s Office had decided that Lamichhane could not be prosecuted, although the RSP president had come to Nepal as an American citizen and obtained a Nepali passport.

The Attorney General’s office decided not to move ahead with the case on Monday following a report of the attorney’s offices of the District and High Court reached the Office of the Attorney General.
