Ballot boxes to be airlifted to district HQ from remote areas of Humla

One hundred thirty-six ballot boxes are being brought in helicopter to the district headquarters from 34 polling stations in southern belt of Humla district.

These ballot boxes are from 34 polling stations in four remote rural municipalities.

Chief District Officer Sita Pariyar said that the Election Commission has consented to bring the ballot boxes from the remote polling stations by helicopter as it would be risky to bring them on foot.

The helicopter will do two sorties to bring the ballot boxes from Sarkegaad. Ballot boxes from more than half the number of polling centres in the district remain to be brought to the district headquarters for counting of votes although two and half days have passed since the election on Sunday.
