Bill on Social Media Regulation Presented in Parliament

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has introduced the Bill Related to the Operation, Use, and Regulation of Social Media in Parliament.

The Bill was presented following a decision made by the Council of Ministers on January 20. Ministry spokesperson Gajendra Kumar Thakur stated that the proposed legislation is of significant public interest and will be subject to parliamentary discussions in the coming sessions.

The Bill aims to establish guidelines for the operation and use of social media platforms while addressing regulatory concerns in the digital sphere.
