Birgunj Dry Port Collects Rs 36.83 Billion in Revenue in Nine Months

The Birgunj Dry Port Customs Office at Sirsiya has collected revenue totaling Rs 36.83 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, achieving 61.34 percent of its annual target.

According to Information Officer Yubaraj Bhattarai, the customs office has seen a steady rise in monthly revenue in recent months. Monthly collections include Rs 3.75 billion in Saun, Rs 4.64 billion in Bhadau, Rs 4.36 billion in Asoj, and Rs 3.79 billion in Kattik.

In the second half of the period, revenue figures stood at Rs 3.22 billion in Mangsir, Rs 3.56 billion in Push, Rs 4.29 billion in Magh, Rs 4.68 billion in Fagun, and Rs 4.5 billion in Chait.

The Department of Customs has set a target of Rs 60.04 billion for the Birgunj Dry Port for the entire fiscal year. Officials remain optimistic that continued improvements in trade flow and customs operations will help meet the goal.
