Dr. Vijay Chauthaiwale, head of the Foreign Affairs Department of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday for a three-day visit aimed at enhancing ties with Nepal’s political leadership.
During his stay, Chauthaiwale is expected to hold meetings with key political figures including Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, among other senior leaders from both ruling and opposition parties.
According to sources, the primary goal of the visit is to strengthen BJP’s engagement with Nepal’s political parties and foster broader political dialogue and cooperation. Chauthaiwale is scheduled to return to India on Friday.
