Brazilian football icon Roberto Carlos has arrived in Nepal to attend the ongoing Nepal Super League (NSL) football tournament. He landed at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday morning, where he was warmly welcomed by NSL organizers and fans.
The 52-year-old football legend expressed his excitement upon arrival, saying he was happy to be in Nepal. “It’s a pleasure to be here. I look forward to experiencing Nepal and the passion of its football fans,” Carlos shared upon his arrival.
Carlos had originally been scheduled to arrive on Friday, but his visit was delayed due to health concerns. His arrival marks a major highlight for the NSL, Nepal’s premier franchise-based football competition.
Roberto Carlos is best known for his illustrious career with the Brazilian national team from 1992 to 2006. He played a pivotal role in Brazil’s victorious 2002 FIFA World Cup campaign and is regarded as one of the greatest left-backs in football history. Known for his explosive speed and powerful free kicks, Carlos also enjoyed a highly successful club career with Real Madrid.
