
Brazilian Football Legend Roberto Carlos Meets Prime Minister Oli


Brazilian football icon Roberto Carlos paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
Carlos, who is visiting Nepal as a special guest for the third season of the Nepal Super League (NSL) currently underway at Dasharath Stadium, was warmly welcomed by the Prime Minister.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli expressed his appreciation for Carlos’s visit, stating that his presence in Nepal has greatly inspired the country’s athletes and youth. He highlighted the longstanding cordial diplomatic ties between Nepal and Brazil and underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation in the sports sector.
The Prime Minister also invited Carlos to return to Nepal in the future to experience the country’s natural beauty through activities like mountain flights and jungle safaris.
Carlos, in response, expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality he has received in Nepal. He said he was honored to meet Prime Minister Oli and delighted to engage with Nepali youth and football enthusiasts.
Regarded as one of the greatest left-backs in football history, Roberto Carlos debuted for Brazil in 1992 and earned over 120 international caps. He played a pivotal role in Brazil’s triumph at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in South Korea and Japan.
Carlos is best known for his illustrious club career with Real Madrid, where he played from 1996 to 2007, winning four La Liga titles and three UEFA Champions League trophies. His visit has generated significant excitement among Nepali football fans and added international flair to the ongoing NSL tournament.
