Bus Carrying Nepali Pilgrims Accidents in India; 45 Injured, 3 Critically
A bus carrying Nepali pilgrims met with an accident in Samastipur, India, on Saturday night, resulting in 45 injuries. Among the injured, three individuals—Dev Narayan Pundit, Subodh Shah Teli, and a nine-year-old girl—are reported to be in critical condition.
The bus, registered as Na 7 Kha 6446, was involved in a collision when it was hit from behind by a truck driven by an Indian security force. A total of 47 people, including 25 women and six children, were on board. Two passengers emerged unharmed from the accident.
The bus was en route to religious shrines in India, including Devghar Babadham in Bihar. The travelers are all from Murtipaliya, Baragadhi Rural Municipality-3 in Bara, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Sapkota from the District Police Office Bara.
The injured are receiving treatment at Samastipur Sadar Hospital and other private clinics in the area. The bus had entered India via the Raxaul checkpoint at 11:00 am on Saturday and is owned by Rajaram Shah of Baragadhi-1.
