CAAN Takes Action Against Two Helicopter Companies

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has taken the decision to suspend helicopter operations by Shree Airlines and Fishtail Air in the Lukla region. This move comes in response to violations of the rule against flying in adverse weather conditions.

CAAN’s decision was prompted by an incident where one of the companies operated a helicopter in breach of the Visual Flight Rules (VFR) when visibility was less than 100 meters. In light of this, CAAN has issued a suspension notice, effectively grounding the helicopters operated by Shree Airlines and Fishtail Air until further notice.

It’s important to note that CAAN has specifically grounded AS350 B3E model helicopters belonging to these companies, while other helicopter models in their fleets remain unaffected.
