CAN Federation Elects New Leadership
The Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN Federation) has elected its new working committee during the 15th General Assembly, which began on December 28. Sunaina Ghimire Pandey has been elected as President, becoming the first woman to lead the organization. Pandey, who also serves as the Managing Director of General Technology, expressed her commitment to addressing challenges in the information technology sector and transforming Nepal into an ICT hub through policy reforms.
Harka Bahadur Shetty, Chiranjivi Adhikari, Nabin Joshi, Shekharnath Dulal, Subhash Khadka, and Sirjana Shrestha were elected as Vice Presidents. Chandra Bilas Bhurtel and Bikram Singh assumed the roles of General Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.
Other elected members include Sarita Neupane, Agma Malakar, Deepak Saha, Sarina Shrestha, Maniraj Pandey, Ram Kishor Rawal, and Karnaraj Paneru as Secretaries. Umesh Raghubanshi, Dhruba Raj Sharma, Keshav Prasad Bhattarai, Narayan Prasad Shrestha, Thakur Kumar Shrestha, Hempal Shrestha, Shila Kansakar Karki, Deependra Paudel, Raju Kattel, and Chintamani Bastola were chosen as Executive Members. Bhanu Bhakta Sharma was elected as the Coordinator, with Santosh Dhungana and Pooja Agrawal serving as Account Committee members.
The CAN Federation, established in January 2015, is a non-political, non-profit organization that unites professionals, institutions, and organizations in Nepal’s ICT sector. It aims to enhance the nation’s information technology landscape and foster international competitiveness.
