Chair Dahal Emphasizes Institutionalizing Achievements

CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stressed the need to institutionalize the achievements gained through past struggles.

In a message marking the 30th anniversary of the armed struggle launched under the then CPN (Maoist), Dahal stated that it is now their responsibility to complete the remaining tasks of social transformation with public trust and mandate. He highlighted that the federal democratic republic was established through the armed movement, ending the monarchy and paving the way for the representation of oppressed communities in governance.

“We engaged in the peace process through a comprehensive peace accord under specific circumstances. For the first time in history, we institutionalized the rights of the Nepali people through the constitution. The foundation for prosperity, justice, and equality has been laid—made possible by the people’s war,” the message read.

Dahal, also a former Prime Minister, acknowledged certain shortcomings in the process but maintained that their intentions remained steadfast. He reaffirmed their ongoing commitment to the progress of Nepali society, stating, “We are moving forward with an open heart, continuously reviewing our weaknesses.”

Paying tribute to the martyrs of the armed struggle, he also expressed respect for those who went missing and wished a full recovery to the injured.
