Chairman Dahal Vows Not to Pursue Prime Ministership Until 2084

Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), has strongly criticized the current government, accusing it of protecting corrupt individuals and fostering instability. Speaking to media representatives in Birgunj on Friday, Dahal alleged that the administration under Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is primarily focused on safeguarding the corrupt and rewarding unethical behavior.
“In my view, the work of the Oli government is detrimental. Their sole purpose seems to be shielding the corrupt while harassing those who genuinely work for the nation,” Dahal remarked. He pointed to the Accounts Committee Chairperson’s appointment, claiming that the position, traditionally reserved for the opposition, has been compromised. According to him, the Prime Minister has been using his influence to defend individuals facing serious allegations.
Dahal emphasized that his party, the Maoist Center, has consistently acted against corruption both in and out of government. He asserted that his government was ousted by corrupt forces, but they remain committed to promoting economic development and transparency.
Furthermore, Chairman Dahal declared that he has no intention of pursuing the post of Prime Minister until 2084, pledging instead to remain dedicated to the people’s interests. He highlighted the contrast between the Maoists’ approach to governance and the alleged misconduct of the current administration.
