Chariot rally takes place in Kathmandu on Maha Shivaratri

A chariot rally has been organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, a Hindu festival observed annually.
Organised by the Yogi Naraharinath Spiritual Council Trust, the rally that started from the Nepal Academy in Kamaladi concluded at Mahadevsthan before going through Kamalpokhari to New Baneshwor via Gyaneshwor, Ratopul, Jayabageshwori, Gaushala and Old Baneshwor.
The Trust has been organising the rally in Kathmandu since 2066 BS in a bid to protect Sanatan religion and culture. Over a dozen organisations participated in the 14th chariot rally, said the Trust’s Chairperson Shankar Paudel. The chariot carried statues of god Shiva and goddess Parbati.
