Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah Calls India Visit Productive, Focuses on Cross-Border Development Cooperation

Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Kamal Bahadur Shah, has described his recent visit to India as “fruitful,” highlighting constructive engagement with Indian leadership on development-oriented issues.

Speaking at a press conference in Dhangadhi on Tuesday upon returning from his weeklong visit, Chief Minister Shah stated that Indian authorities expressed a positive stance toward supporting development initiatives in Sudurpaschim Province.

During the visit, Shah held separate meetings with the Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, where key topics such as energy cooperation, road infrastructure, agricultural development, and the organization of an investment conference were discussed.

“I found the Indian side receptive and supportive of our development priorities,” Shah told reporters. He clarified that his meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was strictly focused on development, and no political matters were discussed.

He further informed that both sides agreed to establish a record-keeping mechanism for individuals crossing the Kailali and Gaddachauki border check-points, aimed at enhancing coordination and security.

Chief Minister Shah returned to Dhangadhi by road from Lucknow, marking the conclusion of a visit focused on strengthening cross-border development cooperation.
